A Banner Day

It was refreshing to do a nice and easy watercolor for a change! The banners are made from actual decorative paper. 11x15 watercolor and mixed media.

Red Shed 6x6 oil

I've always wanted to paint a good ol' fashioned scene like this. Now I can move on. What a relief!

Orange On Blue

Another mini. 6x6 oil. Acrylic underpainting in orange and blue (but opposite) with sketch done in purple acrylic. Oils on top.

Mini Golfer

Another small painting - 8x8. Everything is so much easier when it's smaller! I did an orange underpainting in acrylic so that it dried quicker than did the green and details in oils. This was done from a photo of Ib when he was 3ish.

Lady with Towel

 

This was my first pastel painting. I love to use this material. 

I set up the picture with an orange frame in our bathroom. It looks quite nice there.

Trying something different. Small-scale still lives not intended for sale but for practice using different techniques in oil. A mix between realistic and painterly.

Three Boys Walking

Not quite done with all the detail work. This is done in pastel on a pastel board, first attempt at using the board. I liked it, but it's hard to get the color of the water right up to the boys.
